my yoga sleep /diary day 1

 it is now morning  and I slept well but didn't  it was however one of the most
restful nights I have ever had in I don't know when .
I will do my yoga workout   at 11:30am in the morning trying to get  the timing right is the bug bear as James said it is just trial and error . till I get the times right , then  once I have that worked out then I can work on the next step . I only went to sleep  for about 15-20 mins  today which is great.
 my energy is slowly returning  . I have felt better than  I have in a long-time
 it is almost time for bed  so will sign off now.
lets see what tonight brings

my yoga / sleep diary well here goes

 well here goes I have to try and get my sleep patterns  right .
as I said  in the previous post my sleep patterns are  all up in the air . No I am   not sleeping much  in the day now  but still sleeping way to much!
at night  iam so wide awake  its not funny  it is like our night is our day and our day Is our night  it is ridiculous  I have started taking Harriet for a walk in the mornings with our friend and her little dog Millie  getting up and leaving the house a bit before 8am and coming home around 10am
to try and beat the heat  and it has been great so far but then back to bed I go . I just cant keep my blasted eyes open its terrible  so today I have said enough is enough I am fighting back so to speak
I have decided to do a yoga workout  when I come home from my walk with Harriet   to see if that keeps me awake so that I go to bed at 11pm to get up at 7am
it is now 9:30am I am tired now so will roll out the yoga mat and give this a go I have tried  everything else  I hope this works I am just beside myself !
I will give this a go for four weeks  as from today to see if this works, I just hope it does .
I did my yoga workout and I kept awake  a lot longer but I had to have a sleep in the afternoon.
it  is  11pm  and I am tired  so will try and sleep now , hope I will sleep through the night.

my yoga /sleep diary experiment



hi all i have decided to do a yoga/sleep diary  to get my sleeping patterns right.
iam a terrible sleeper.
 i have tried a great number of things to try to get me to sleep
a dr  once told me this in his own words
you know he didnt even look up from his desk he just kept on writing in his book
and said nothing will make you sleep.
lets see how my  little experiment  works

home from south africa



we are back from south Africa and what a blast we have had!
in-between family functions, playing with elephants and baby lion cubs
I kept up my yoga even our lovely niece  got involved too it was great.
one day I thought I would use my sister in-laws dvd to do my yoga well everything went well until the end, I couldn't get it back to the TV ! needless to say I never used her dvd player again I kept up
my yoga and I cant believe how much I actually remembered   I am so proud
we arrived  back into Perth at 2am in the  morning  we were so very tired .
I cant believe it has been a month already since we have been back home I have to say our jetlag has been just fowl! it took us two weeks to get over and our sleeping patterns  have been  up in the air
but now I am not sleeping as much so I  can get back into yoga and am so looking forward to it
and I will tell you how my sleeping patterns improve over the weeks ahead, what is so amazing is that everything we ate over the   Christmas holiday and new years we didn't put on any extra weight . James and I thought  we would have but to our surprise not one ounce we nearly fell on the floor !
it just really shows how much yoga pays off as well as healthy body, mind and spirit..

yoga in south africa

sorry i havint been on for a while but our computer died once again
at the moment i am with family in south Africa and what a time James and i are having.
the animals i have seen are so beautiful  and so are the people i thought i would never get to see them in my lifetime  let alone stick my finger in an elephants ear!
the food here is to die for
but i have kept up my yoga with the greatest of ease  and the occasional lick from the dogs and help from my
great nieces who are just gorgeous  by the way .
my husband James gave me a wonderful compliment  today he said i look the same as i did when i got off the plane figure wise i am so proud especially after all the yummy food i have eaten.
 iam just happy i can still fit into my shorts ! the family are just lovely and have shown james and i everywhere my niece and her mother and sister and a friend  took me out night clubbing   the other night  i had an absolute ball!  they had me in stitches we danced till 1am  in the morning  and the people  we saw  well !  i couldn't describe   none of us could.
i dragged myself out of bed at 8am  the next day for an outing and then a braai {barbeque }i had a sleep once we got home then did a spot of yoga and that was great i was getting yoga withdrawals!
so as i am writing this it is a bright warm sunny day in south africa .
my husband James is reading , my mother in law who i call mum is outside  reading and my sister in law is working.  so i am off to make the most of the day and do a wonderful yoga workout.
